August Jerndorff, 1846 - 1906, has 28 pieces in Museums and Notable Collections. Winner of numerous awards and medals, including the highest in Denmark and two Silver Medals at Paris International, 1989 and 1900 (Super Bowl of Art). He was especially renown for Figurative work. He exhibited at all the major shows, including Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893. He is referenced in innumerable books.
He executed this work at age 50, still at the high of his powers. Educated in the 1860s, prior to the French influenced naturalist school, which led to the Impressionists, he nevertheless wasn't stuck in the Empire Period or strict Representative School.
