Artist: Julius Paulsen(1860-1940), has 58 works in Museums and Notable Collections. He was renown for figurative scenes of ordinary women just being themselves in their boudoirs. His soft brush strokes added a great deal of charisma.
Paulsen was celebrated in his own time, a Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Art, winning a gold medal at the Paris International in 1900 (Super Bowl of art), innumerable exhibitions including the Chicago World Fair in 1893, and many other International Shows.
Painting is in excellent condition, recently cleaned, with light over-painting in the negative background area. No repairs or patches. Period gold frame in very good condition. (29 x 24 1/2" framed.)
