A few years ago, I acquired a bunch of works from the estate of a former Rhode Island School of Design Instructor as well as a Gorham Foundry artist. Known as a painter, Emilie Ruecker was a prominent Rhode Island resident who eventually donated her estate to the Audubon Society. That estate became what is now the Emilie Ruecker Wildlife Refuge in Tiverton, Rhode Island. As many descriptions of the refuge state, one can easily see how the landscape was an inspiration for her paintings. I imagine this is one from that Rhode Island farm.
This is a wonderful 1925 impressionist oil on canvasboard titled "Green Solitude". The back has the original label from Cleveland Museum of Art 7th Annual Exhibition of Cleveland Artists. Painting measures 15 x 10 inches. Signed lower right. Clean and in very good condition with just some minor surface grime and a few very minor spots of losses. Original frame is complimentary and ready to hang. Frame measures 16 x 11 inches. If you are interested in the artist's work, check my store for the other work I am also selling. I also have a couple of others available. Just email me and I will send you the details.
