Fresh from a Cape Cod estate this looks like the work of many of the famous artists who were painting still lifes in the late 19th Century in New Bedford Massachusetts. To me, it most resembles the work Clarence Braley was doing in his earlier years. A wonderful view of a spilled basket of peaches. I believe it is oil pastel as it was done on a stretched canvas as opposed to a sheet of paper. Unsigned anywhere I can find. Image measures 12 x 16 inches and is in excellent condition as it is behind it's original glass. There is some dirt between the picture and the glass but nothing bad at all. Painting is in original frame and liner and that is why I chose not to remove it. Frame shows a few nicks but really a wonderful presentation of an original 19th Century work. Frame measures 17 1/2 x 21 inches.
