These iconic Art Deco bookends were designed by Walter Von Nessen in the 1930s for the Chase Brass & Copper Co. founded in 1876. A fine example of the “Hoops and Balls” design, they feature an outer ring of copper and an inner brass ring on a rectangular base with three ball finials. In excellent vintage condition, they measure 5 “x 5" x 2 7/8” and weigh about 3 1/2 pounds. A wonderful set.
