Bob Bennett (1928-2003) was a listed artist/sculptor and owner of a foundry and galleries with his twin brother, Tom. In 1974, he began to produce very distinctive cast bronze sculptures, counting Presidents George Bush and Gerald Ford, Pope John II, Clint Eastwood, and Tony Bennett among the collectors of his work.
In 1982, Bennett created these wonderful abstract bookends in a flowing, organic form crafted of bronze with patinated areas highlighting the bold curves. Both are signed with the artist's signature, 1982 and numbered #70 of 500. Each sculpture stands 8 1/2" tall x 7" wide x 6 1/2" and weighs 8 pounds. Excellent condition. I was only able to find one other set listed, priced at $2800.
