Sigi Pineda was a master silversmith responsible for influencing the Mexican Modernist movement. He began as an apprentice to Taxco maestros Los Castillo and Margot Van Voorhies Carr as a child, and opened his own workshop in 1952.
This stunning Sigi design appears in "Mexican Silver" by Morrill and Berk, p.199. It features an upper level with three swirls above a niello base, creating a shadowbox effect. The highly collectible earrings are in excellent vintage condition, measuring 1” across and 24 grams. Hallmarked Sigi Tasco 925 Sterling.
