Bent Gabrielsen (b. 1928) qualified as a goldsmith in 1949, after serving his apprenticeship in Copenhagen. He worked for Hans Hansen for many years, later designing for Georg Jensen after Jensen acquired Hansen’s firm. Gabrielsen won the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1964.
This highly collectible Bent Gabrielsen sterling silver "ring" bracelet is a beautiful example of his work, featuring an ingenious oversize ring and hook closure. It measures 7 1/4" in circumference and 5/8" wide in back, tapering in front to hold the 1 1/4" ring. It weighs 48 grams. Signed Hans Hansen 925S, Denmark. Excellent condition. A gorgeous investment piece.
