Master silversmith William Spratling, a true Renaissance man....artist, architect, author, and businessman, was instrumental in the revival of the silver trade in Mexico. Since the early 1930s, his extraordinary creations have delighted lovers of fine silver jewelry worldwide. Highly prized by collectors, his work is frequently showcased in books and exhibitions.
These wonderful curled ribbon earrings were crafted in Spratling's Taxco workshop in the 1940s. In very good vintage condition, they measure approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" x 1/2". One earring back is hallmarked Spratling Silver, and the other back (likely replaced) is marked Mexico Silver.
