Bent Gabrielsen qualified as a goldsmith in 1949, after serving his apprenticeship in Copenhagen. He worked for Hans Hansen for many years, later designing for Georg Jensen. Gabrielsen won the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1964.
This rare Modernist sterling bracelet Gabrielsen designed for Hans Hansen is a wonderful example of his work. Beautifully crafted, it is composed of eleven sculptural triangular links with great range of movement, quite comfortable to wear.
It has an ingenious screw closure, and measures 7" long by just over 1" wide, and weighs 60 grams. The bracelet closes by loosening the screw, inserting the triangular loop into bracelet end, and tightening screw. Excellent condition, signed Hans Hansen, 925S, Denmark, 239. A gorgeous investment piece. Will gladly polish upon request at purchase. Listed elsewhere for £975.
