This is a beautiful Hobe brooch that shimmers with movement. It features gold tone findings with a dangling chain. It has intricate circles with faux turquoise and white faceted milk glass stones, which are all quality prong set. Beautifully made.
MARKS: Signed Hobe on the back.
CONDITION: There are no missing stones or flaws. Excellent pre-owned condition.

ERA: This particular mark was used from 1958 until 1983. Hobe provided jewelry to high end department stores and expensive boutiques.
HISTORY: The company was founded by Jacques Hobe, in 1883 in France. After WW-ll , William Hobe, the son, moved the company to the U.S.A. In California he made jewelry for the Ziegfeld Follies. It was the "darling" of Hollywood starlets in the 50's. Hobe jewelry is still being made, but has nothing to do with the original family.
