OH MY, this is an over the top demi parure by Hattie Carnegie. It features a necklace and clip earrings. You must see it, to believe how extravagant this is!!
They have beautiful glass beads in a mustard and champagne color, with gold-tone findings. The necklace has an amazing 16 strands and a HUGE pendant adorned box clasp. It also features faux pearls and gold-tone clusters and beads. Everything Hattie Carnegie was famous for, all in one set!
The necklace is marked Hattie Carnegie and the earrings are marked Carnegie. This is still in the old original box marked Neusteters. A kind visitor informed me that, Neusteter's was the Bergdorf Goodman of Denver shops. They were very high end but closed their doors a few decades ago
SIZE: the necklace is 17" long, while the matching clip earrings are 1 3/4" long.
CONDITION: There is some slight, very slight corrosion on the back of the earrings, otherwise this set is in very good pre-owned condition. Please see the pictures.
HISTORY: Hattie Carnegie Co.made jewelry from the early 1920's until 1970's. Her designs were always considered unique since she did not follow the trends of the larger jewelry makers of that era. It is said that Joan Crawford, the movie star, bought and wore many of her designs. Carnegie passed away in 1956 and her jewelry company went on under the leadership of Larry Josephs who closed the company in the 1970's.
