This is an amazing 18 karat Italy gold brooch with natural coral `flowers', plentiful sparkly diamonds and enameling. The Haute Couture details and design are original and rare.
It is done in a stylized floral design. Featuring a stamen composed of four natural coral gems mounted on posts within a spray of white and green enameled sections. Notice the sparkly diamonds next to the red coral.
There is a front surround of strongly textured nugget gold above a cluster of white gold with navette shaped diamond sections. Then there is a green enamel leaf and a polished yellow gold stem.
This brooch contains 11 round brilliant and single cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.12 carat total. This size was determined by my jeweler, while the diamonds were set in the brooch.
ERA: This trombone style of clasp uses a push pull method of closing. It was used from as early as the late 1800s. The clasp was mainly used by European designers, and can be found on more modern pins up to the mid 20th century. This is most likely an early to mid 20th. century creation.
HALLMARK: Italy on the clasp. All gold tests for 18K quality. Clearly seen with a jewelers loop, but so hard to get a good picture.
WEIGHT: 24 grams total weight. Measures 2-3/4" x 1-1/2".
CONDITION: I see no damage at all. Excellent pre-owned condition. There is a secure clutch safety clasp.
