This is a signed Hobe necklace. It features coral and glass beads. It is very feminine and pretty. Perfect for the season coming up.
A gold tone clasp is like an early Miriam Haskell push clasp. Pull the ring back and it opens and push it forward and it closes. It is signed with the Hobe name on one side and a patent date of 3427691.
ERA: The signature shows a copyright mark. Dating it to after 1958.
CONDITION: This beaded torsade is in great pre-owned condition. The gold color findings are sparkly clean, as are the beads and coral. No broken pieces anywhere!
SIZE: It is 15-1/2” long.
HISTORY: The company was founded by Jacques Hobe, in 1883 in France. After WW-ll William Hobe', the son, moved the company to the U.S.A. In California he made jewelry for the Ziegfeld Follies, and catered to the Hollywood crowd. Hobe jewelry is still being made, but has nothing to do with the original family. Hobe provided jewelry to high end department stores and expensive boutiques. It was the "darling" of Hollywood starlets in the 50's.
Your necklace will arrive in a new gift box, suitable for gift giving. I also offer FREE shipping in the USA, with insurance provided by Wild Goose Chase for everyone.
