MARKS: signed on the back....Trifari.
ERA: Starting in 1955 Trifari used the crown and copyright mark.
CONDITION: Very fine pre-owned condition. Very good nacre to the faux pearls. Trifari does a great faux pearl! Very light scratches to finish seen under magnification. BUT this brooch is so pretty and ready to wear.
SIZE: It measures approximately 2 1/2" long.
HISTORY: The Italian goldsmith Gustavo Trifari with Leo Krussman founded Trifari and Krussman in New York City in 1918. During WW ll Trifari made most of their jewelry in sterling silver because of a shortage of white base metal. Innovative designs have made them a leader in the industry. In 2000 Liz Clayborne purchased Trifari and they are still in business. The current mark used by HSN is Trifari TM.
