This is an estate MIRIAM HASKELL necklace with glass baroque pearls and open back faceted green crystals.
It has gold tone findings. It has a tag which is stamped Miriam Haskell, while the clasp is also stamped Miriam Haskell with patent number.
CONDITION: This necklace in great pre-owned condition. Secure clasp. Clean glowing faux pearls with lovely nacre. Fine cut glass beads. Ready to wear!
SIZE: Measures 28" long.
HISTORY: Miriam Haskell began business in 1924 when she came from Indiana to NYC and opened a shop. She started the Miriam Haskell Company in 1926. No jewelry was marked in any permanent way from 1926 until 1947, and only occasionally marked from 1947 until 1949. Haskell sold her business in 1954 to Frank Hess and Morris Kensler, and it has had various owners since then. The company is still in business today.
