This antique pitcher is so elegant. It is a Daisy and Fern pattern large ball pitcher. It features gorgeous cranberry glass with opalescent fern and daisy, an opulent ruffle top, and a reeded handle.
It has a ground and polished pontil. Truly an amazing find! Looks perfect!
Several companies made this particular pattern. The Northwoods Co. originally produced it in the late 1800's, and then Fenton reproduced it in the 1930's while it was sold by L G Wright. Confusing?? You bet it is, because it is all unmarked.
However, because of the exact fern pattern and the deeper than normal scallop in the ruffle at the top, I am attributing this to the Northwoods Glass Co. Please look closely and see the fine leafing of the fern, and the difference is very clear.
SIZE: Almost 9 ½" at tallest point, and 22" around the widest part of the body.
