HOBE Necklace and Earrings Set - Vintage Hobe Demi Parure Jewelry

This is a striking and classically beautiful set. Double strands of plastic beads and a green enamel flower clasp are set off by matching green flower earrings.

All pieces are marked Hobe. I have read that Hobe used an exclusive 22K electro-plating process. Their gold plating is exceptional.

CONDITION: Excellent pre-owned condition. Great finish on all aspects of this set. Ready to wear!

SIZE: necklace is 16" long and the earrings are 1" across.

HISTORY: The company was founded by Jacques Hobe, in 1883 in France. After WW-ll William Hobe', the son, moved the company to the U.S.A. In California he made jewelry for the Ziegfeld Follies, and catered to the Hollywood crowd. Hobe jewelry is still being made, but has nothing to do with the original family. Hobe provided jewelry to high end department stores and expensive boutiques. It was the "darling" of Hollywood starlets in the 50's.
