HISTORY: Hattie Carnegie was a fashion designer in New York City from the 1920's to the 1960's. Her earliest jewelry was designed to complement her clothing line. When marked, her jewelry is signed "Hattie Carnegie" or "Carnegie" or "HC" inside an oval. Her designs were always considered unique since she did not follow the trends of the larger jewelry makers of her era. It is said that Joan Crawford, the movie star, bought and wore many of her designs. Carnegie passed away in 1956, and was run by Larry Josephs until the 1970.
