This is a lovely designer signed MONET brooch and earrings set, or demi parure.
Done in a white enamel and gold-tone finish in a leaf design. It is marked on the back Monet.
ERA: This particular mark with the copyright symbol was used after 1955.
SIZE: Brooch is 3 3/4" by 1 3/4". Earrings are 1 1/4" across.
CONDITION: Great pre-owned condition. Light wear to the back finish of the earrings,
but all other surfaces are just wonderful. All clasps are secure.
HISTORY: Monet was started in 1929 by brothers with the name of
Chernow and originally called Monocraft.
By 1937 it was making gold plated jewelry under the name MONET.
Monet also made jewelry for Yves Saint Laurent in the 1980's.
It was sold in 2000 to Liz Claiborne and the name is still used.
