This small, vintage, limited edition statue by Edgar Britton is cast with two nude torsos with the male lifting the female in a ballet pose on a plinth. This sculpture was made at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center (CO) where Britton was an instructor. Limited edition of 5.

Born in Nebraska, Edgar Britton was a painter, muralist and sculptor. He worked in Iowa with Grant Wood from 1920-24 and then moved to Chicago in 1925, where he worked on various architectural commissions. His work was influenced by the social-realist style of the Mexican muralists. Due to health reasons he moved to Colorado in 1942 where he remained until his death.
