Housed in a sturdy, leather carrying case, this antique military box displays a black, enamel finish with gold and red details. It opens to reveal a wonderfully fitted interior that features mail slots in the lid and fitted compartments, including one locking compartment with a key and heart escutcheon. It retains bottles for black and red inks and a more recent, pale green paint. The compartmentalized tray lifts out to reveal a storage box.
