An antique earthenware pottery, open salt cellar or spice stand of triangular form with three circular bowls from Talavera de la Reina in Toledo, Spain. The sides are decorated with lion head masks in relief with polychrome, majolica glazes in yellow and green on white ground. A similar design of salt cellar is in the collection of the Courtauld Gallery (London).
MARKS Bottom with incised A monogram.
