Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)
An antique, Ming Dynasty burial, funerary figure holding a flute, and wearing a traditional conical hat and partly, green glazed robe. This small, votive statuette is crafted in two-parts with a removable head. Often the bodies and heads of tomb statues are crafted in two pieces, like in this example. These type of funerary figures were buried in the tomb for use by the deceased in the afterlife and include musicians, attendants and animals.
