An antique, Ming Dynasty burial, funerary attendant figure, and wearing a traditional hat and robe in unglazed pottery with one arm raised to balance an object on his shoulder. This small, votive statuette figure is crafted in two-parts with a removable head. Often the bodies and heads of tomb statues are crafted in two pieces, like in this example. These type of funerary figures were buried in the tomb for use by the deceased in the afterlife and include musicians, attendants and animals.
