(San Idelfonso, NM, 1900-89)
This small jar is crafted in the traditional, black-on-black polished finish that the San Idelfonso Pueblo is famous for. This example is carved deeply in a cameo-style with a geometric pattern around the neck with a burnished base. Rose is credited as one of the early innovators of deeply carved pottery around 1930. Signed (base): Rose.
