Vincent Price Collection, Sears Roebuck & Co. (1962-71). In 1961 Sears hired actor and art collector Vincent Price to create a gallery of fine art for sale to the general public in their department stores. It opened in Denver, Colorado and later expanded nationwide. Artists in the collection included famous artists such as Rembrandt, Chagall, Picasso and Whistler, all selling in the range of $10 to $3000. This program ended in 1971 after selling more than 50,000 works of art.
