This small pair of antique, 19th century, lion statues depicts two male lions in seated position and were once decorations on an English Colonial building in Bombay. Each bears a large mane and ferocious expression with deadly teeth exposed in an open, growling mouth. There are slight remnants of an early polychrome finish. This is a nice size for indoor use, but would also be effective in a garden setting.
