Hand crafted to house altar accoutrements, this antique Chinese buddha shrine is made like the facade of a house; with a sloping, tall roof, double doors that display floral, carved details, echoed throughout the front, and side pilasters. Note, also, the interesting finials at the sides of the roof peak. The example is especially finely proportioned and a lovely, decorative piece. These architectural shrines were also used to contain spirit tablets inscribed with details of deceased relatives.
