An antique landcape painting by Scandinavian artist Hugo Carlberg. This painting shows a tranquil, spring forest scene, with a clearing and roads and is executed in soft pastels. Carlberg was known for his landscapes of Smaland. Signed and dated (lower right): Hugo Carlberg 1913. The artist trained at the Art Academy in Stockholm and Paris. His focus was primarily landscapes and studies of light.
