This painting shows a winter valley landscape in Holmenkollen, Sørkedalen, northwest of Oslo, Norway. It captures the view as seen from the tuberculosis sanatorium window. Vilfred-Pedersen painted portraits, landscapes, figures and interiors in oils and watercolors. He traveled around the world seven times and lived in India for 12 years where he was considered a leading British Colonial painter. Signed (lower left): Hugo VP.
