The abrashed brownish salmon-peach field displays a five column repeating design of finger lobed lozenges, palmettes, short arabesques, leaves and flowers in two reds, teal, light blue,yellow-tan and ivory. Most Lilians of the period are red or navy blue rugs in Sarouk patterns,so this scatter with a luxuriant, soft pile is quite rare.
The border abrashes from sky blue to teal, while displaying sharp petal rosettes and black accented acanthus leaves. Gold and rust are salient border accent tones. The weave is fine,on a cotton foundation. the pile is generally high and soft, although there is some light wear at one end of the field. the rug has been cleaned professionally.
