Particularly heavy for an oasis town Khotan rug,this unusual scatter shows three round floating peach "moon" medallions on a rich navy ground.Four fret corners and two small rosettes are the only other elements in the field.This very simple and minimalist field design contrasts with the abbreviated Yun-TsaoTou border accented in sand, medium blue, light peach and light brown.There is solid pile on the rug and the condition is excellent.Khotan scatters are relatively rare,and few have the graphic quality of this piece.
