The Groetchen Tool Company of Chicago Illinois made the Dixie Spelling Bee trade stimulator around 1937. This 5 shutter machine is played by trying to spell the words “BINGO”, KEENO”, or “DIXIE”. The numbers in the “O” show the amount of the winning payouts according to the award card at the top.
Groetchen made several other games similar to this one using the same Dixie Dominoes cabinet and changing the reel strips and adding shutters. This machine is probably the rarest of the Groetchen Churchill cabinet stimulators.
The cabinet has been restored and the mechanism has been completely serviced. The reel strips and award card are new replacements, however the original award card is underneath the replacement. The back door and lock and key are replacements as well.
Measures 15 x 10 x 12 inches high. Weighs approximately 20 lbs
