This is a small and unique hand-held bar room trade stimulator similar to a punch board. It dates back to the 1940's and measures 7” X 5” X 1”. The device is filled with 1000 metal pellets, some are colored but most are black. To play one has to pay the tavern proprietor for each play. By inserting the attached key, one pellet is dispensed into the viewing window and each push costs a penny, if a colored pellet is dispensed then the proprietor pays out accordingly. For example a gold colored pellet is worth $1.00 (100 to 1 odds) a black pellet is worth nothing. The colored pellet payouts are on the front panel and the number of colored pellets in the device is included on a separate piece of paper. There is a small slot in the left side panel to release the pellets so the next player can play the game.
The game appears to be all original and it comes in the original cardboard box but there is an added screw at the top and bottom so the pellets can be replenished.
The game is called “Long Shots 100 to 1”, I see no manufacturer markings.
