This is a rare gambling trade stimulator from the 1920-30-'s. It is a combination horse race game and a dice game manufactured for or by the Kraks Mint Company. A package of Kraks mints is dispensed for every nickle played. There are about 20 original and very old Kraks mint packages still in the machine. The machine itself is made of wood with a spinner under a glass dome. When a nickle is inserted, the turn table under the dome spins and the dice roll around. A person could place a bet on one of the horses or just go with the roll of the dice. Winning payouts are printed on the payout cards at the top back and right front of the machine. The mint packages are dispensed at the rear of the machine. It has two locked panels at the back, one to access the mint supply and the other to retrieve the coins. Both have locks with a working key.
I'm uncertain as to how many of these machines were manufactured.
Kraks Mints were first manufactured by the American Mint Company in the 1920's. The Spangler Candy Company later purchased the American Mint Company along with the Kraks name.
Size is about 16” X 12” X 10”.
