This lovely Chinese cloisonne necklace caught my eye because of its unusual color. Instead of the typical royal blue, or deep periwinkle, it is a “smoky” or denim blue—the color of your favorite blue jeans. With soft pink, cream, and white flowers adorning the beads, plus punches of golden yellow as an accent, it would be fabulous way to dress up your jeans on “Casual Friday!” Expertly strung with perfect tension, the matching blue silk cord is hand-knotted between each bead. This is probably a 1970's piece (when trade resumed with China & there was not yet a standard hallmark used on silver jewelry). However, it could date back as early as the Art Deco era, when the older “Silver” stamp—found on this clasp—was typically used.
