Crafted in the 1880's, this sizable 14 karat gold locket features a stylized diamond star centered on an intersecting design of cobalt blue enamel ribbons. The icy brilliance of the diamonds contrasts beautifully with the deep blue enamel and soft patina in the gold. Suspended from the bottom is a diamond studded drop. The interior of the locket contains one glass covered compartment measuring 1 1/4" x 15/16". Truly an exquisite piece.
Diamonds: approximately 1.40 ctw of old cushion cuts and rose cut diamonds, they are well matched and eye clean, the diamond on the top right has a surface reaching inclusion that can be seen under magnification, large diamonds are in the K,L,M color range, VS2 - SI1 range in clarity.
