This whimsical late Victorian era rooster brooch is guaranteed to make you smile! He has been finely crafted in 18 karat rose gold. The body is encrusted with glittering old rose-cut diamonds with a cabochon ruby accented eye, comb and waddle. The moving wing is accented in ruby, emeralds and diamonds. No detail was overlooked, with a pearl "corn" in his beak and textured gold hackle feathers and feet. He's absolutely marvelous!

Condition notes: There is one marquise-cut ruby in his comb that is a replacement. One replaced ruby cabochon in the comb and wing. There are a few glued stones. On the reverse there are some minor restorations as well as a reinforced tail feather.
Markings: There is a partial hallmark on the c-clasp, possibly French assay mark for 18 karat
