An Elegant Large Mulberry Transferware Platter in the "Indian Temples" Pattern. The only known maker of this pattern was the Staffordshire Pottery of the brothers Thomas & John Carey that was in operation from 1823 to 1842. This beautiful platter depicts a Temple or Mosque with a bridge and camels in the foreground surrounded by a floral border. It measures approximately 19 3/4 inches by 16 1/4 inches. Condition is very good for its age and use with some minor imperfections. There a few knife scratches, and some small edge chips. On the back there is a small edge chip and a short hairline next to the mark. Please see close up images for condition. A nice addition to your collection of transferware!
