Hand decorated porcelain compote by the famous Derby Porcelain Works. The attractive imari palette pattern (#876) has extensive gilt highlights. The central pattern is very similar to the "Old Imari" pattern that was very popular in the 20th century and is still produced today. The main difference is the border. The impressed DERBY mark was used from 1878 through 1900, although the absence of the word England would narrow the date to between 1878 and 1891. The compote measures 9 1/8 inches in diameter and it stands 4 1/2 inches in height. Condition is excellent with only minor wear to gilt.
