An interesting Brown Ware Twelve Lobed Plate with Yellow Decoration. I believe this decorative plate to have been made by the Scott Brothers of Southwick Pottery, Sunderland and not the Scott Brothers of Portobello, Edinburgh, Scotland. Both are known to have produced brown earthenwares with yellow decoration. It is marked with an impressed SCOTT BROTHERS which would indicate a date between 1838 and 1854. The plate measures 9 1/4 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with only some minor glaze flaws that occurred in production.
