This is a late 19th century plate that was made in England by Wedgwood. The piece commemorates the start of pheasant hunting season on October 1st. The scene shows a hunter with his dogs as a pheasant falls from the sky. The bottom right corner of the top reads “October 1st”.
The plate is 9” in diameter. The back of the plate is marked “WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND”, it is impressed “WEDGWOOD”, and hand numbered “C3524”. The porcelain is in good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs.
