I purchased three pairs of kinetic mobile earrings from an estate south of Boston. Two are signed by Ruth Berridge who was a Modernist jewelry maker from Western Massachusetts and New York City most notably creating her beautiful pieces in the mid-century. She made her mobile earrings using silver spring wire so they have the unusual characteristic of constant motion. The earrings lay flat on a table, but come to life when clipped to your ear.
Here I am offering a pair that has a three tier inverted horseshoe design. The sides of one horseshoe are marked “BERRIDGE HAND MADE STERLING” and the clips are marked sterling too. They are 2-1/2” long including the top clip. The largest horseshoe is 1-3/4” long and 1” wide. The earrings are in good condition with light tarnish.
