A lovely delicate signed and sealed watercolor and ink on silk album leaf depicting a briar rose branch with blossom and buds. A calligraphy inscription and seals complete the image. The piece bears a jianding wax seal from Shanghai indicating a permitted export as well as a label stating 民国 1914 (born out by the date in the inscription 甲寅）and was purchased in 1983 at the Government art shop in Shanghai.

Size: image 8 5/8" x 6 3/8"; leaf 14 15/16" x 10 1/8". Condition: some discoloration on the silk mount, some minor staining on the silk leaf. Altogether a nice bright antique piece.
