This impressive woodblock image by Huang Shang (b.1919) from the modern tradition of Chinese woodcuts depicts the highly auspicious gathering of a bumper harvest. The image appears to be printed on a "fancy" color streaked thin paper laid down on a backing sheet of slightly thicker paper. One red seal in lower left. Pencil numbered 35/50; pencil titled 庆丰收 "Celebrating the Bumper Harvest"; pencil designated as 木刻 or woodcut; pencil signed Huang Shang 黄裳 and pencil dated 1980 -- all in the bottom margin, the print measures 16 1/4" x 27 5/8".

Condition: Some discoloration to margins. Backing paper loose at edges. Otherwise good vintage condition.
