On offer here is this fabulous mouth blown, cobalt blue cased and hand-cut to clear 1920's/1930's crystal decanter designed by Charles Graffart. Measuring 9" high by 6" base diameter, it is an exceptional piece and one that would fit beautifully with any clear or cobalt crystal glasses. Or it would make a wonderful display item.
It is etched with the full Val St Lambert cursive mark on the base. (We've done our best to get an image of the mark. It's in the last photo.)
Condition is consistent with normal use over 60 to 70 years. On the lowest rung of cut to clear, there are a number of tiny dings to the facets as well as one 2mm ding. This is normal when the decanter is used for, say, port and is pushed around the dining table bumping into objects (increasingly frequently as the evening progresses!). These are only visible upon close examination -- in fact we used a jewellers loupe -- and the price reflects this. There is no other damage, restoration or repair that we can spot. However, we are not glass experts, so please ask if you have any questions or concerns.
Texas buyers please note that sales tax will be collected either by Ruby Lane or by us.
