19th century bridal or wedding box was handmade in Sweden. The box is a bentwood box with a lid. The lid is held on by two wooden pieces that pull back to let you remove the lid. The box was decorated with a design slightly carved into the box. It has a very folk art appeal. These boxes were often made by the groom to give to the bride. They held her bridal keepsakes or trousseau. This box is beautifully made with loving care and is in very good condition. The box would date from the mide to late 1800’s.
