French Confit pot is made of pottery and was used to store cooked meats, such as duck, goose, and pork. The word confit means to preserve. Confit pots came from Provence in France. This pot dates from the late 1800’s. The top of the pot is glazed and the bottom is unglazed, because it is buried in the dirt to keep the meat cool. This pot is in the traditional color of the mustard yellow. It is in good condition with a hole in the bottom that has been put there for drainage. We offer a large number of these pots.
