Antique 14k gold and enamel Art Nouveau lavalier necklace, c. 1900.
This beautiful gold necklace features a delicate floral design with vibrant polychrome enamel, a tiny diamond, and freshwater pearls. Although unsigned, it was likely manufactured by one of the American firms in Newark, NJ around the turn of the twentieth century. The pendant measures 1-1/4” long by 7/8” wide and hangs from a 15-1/2” long chain. Weighs 3.5 grams. Both the chain and the pendant are unmarked but test for 14k. Overall good condition with minor enamel loss and some dark grime between the flowers and ribbon. It would probably benefit from a professional cleaning but has been left as found.
